Cassi’s professional experience has been rooted in political consulting and activism for causes and organizations. Cassi has worked on various local political campaigns in Oklahoma and across the nation. After graduating college, Cassi moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for Change to Win as a Press Assistant and later at Grunwald Communications as a Production Coordinator helping produce television and radio ads and coordinate messaging strategy for Sen. Al Franken (MN), Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Gov. John Lynch (NH). Cassi worked hand-in-hand with Grunwald Communications President, Mandy Grunwald, current Hillary Clinton Senior Media Advisor and former Media Consultant for President Bill Clinton.

After returning to Oklahoma, Cassi served as Communications and New Media Director for Jim Priest for Attorney General, coordinating paid and earned media operations for the statewide campaign. Cassi then served as the Political Director for Sally’s List, an organization to recruit and train progressive women to run for the Oklahoma Legislature. During the first cycle of Sally’s List’s existence, Cassi helped recruit and train five candidates for the Oklahoma State Legislature, coordinate an independent expenditure operation, organize campaign trainings across the state, and lead an extensive internship program for Oklahoma college students interested in politics. Recognizing the lack of women in elected office, Cassi founded 2020 Oklahoma PAC, which aims to put more money in the hands of viable women running for office.

Cassi was instrumental in putting together a coalition of legislators and grassroots activists with the Yes All Daughters movement to pass sexual assault prevention and response training for Oklahoma public schools and is currently working with Shepard’s Watch, an organization which seeks stricter safe sleep standards in Oklahoma Childcare Facilities, to pass legislation this next session.

Cassi is the former President of the Young Democrats of Oklahoma and Chairwoman of the Young Democrats of America Rural Caucus. Cassi Peters, 31, is a native of Marlow, Oklahoma and a graduate from the University of Oklahoma, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Public Relations. She is a proud Chickasaw, resident of Oklahoma City, Vice President of the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association, serves on the Board of Directors for Wilson Arts Inc., board member of the Wilson Elementary PTA, graduate of LOYAL Class XII, and is mommy to Josi, Guthrie, and fur babies Penelope, Rommel, and Woody.
